A large bustling crowded place. Must go. One of the best times in Florence was waiting just outside the door, smelling the fresh melon and prosciutto being cut just inside, sipping the wine passed out to the queue.

Trattoria ZaZa
Piazza Mercato Centrale, tel (055) 215411. Great atmosphere as well as food. Perfect place to wind up after shopping at the market. Great soups, good for lunch.
Museums

Uffizi - make your reservations ahead of time by calling the number on the Uffizi Site. Request a time and you'll get a reservation number that shoots you to the head of the long long line.
