We are in the process of having a home built by Toll Brothers in Freehold, N.J.
This page contains pictures and information about the progress. Beyond this page, we have set up another WEB SITE to update the photos and information. It now has photos up through March 27.

The Development: Clayton Farms
Clayton Farms is a brand new development by Toll Brothers in Freehold, N.J.
The Model : Coventry
We chose the Coventry model for its layout and because it does NOT have a 2 story family room.
Click on the picture for more info on the model itself, there you can look at the floor plan in "Design Your Own Home". The options we took were the Palladian Kitchen, Conservatory, Expanded Family Room, Rear Bay in Study, and Curved Staircase.
The Lot : 44
On the morning of the first day of taking orders for Clayton Farms, Irene and I got to the office at 7 a.m. to get in line for the 11 a.m opening. For two hours we were alone, and the anxiety about whether we would get a lot turned to anxiety about the housing market. Finally, we were joined by another couple at 9 a.m. and let in early by Rose at 10. Others started to arrive around 10:30, and by 11 the place was packed. Since we had first choice, we took lot 44 at the end of the cul-de-sac on a 2-acre property.
Options
I can't imagine being your own contractor and building a house from scratch. There are enough decisions to make when you have a limited selection on a multitude of items. Choosing the color of grout? This is a picture of the conservatory from the model and a closeup of the tile they use which we also chose.
More Options
The master bathroom tile, along with the granite for the kitchen and butler's pantry off the dining room.
Current Construction
As of 10/20, the foundation is in and the first floor flooring is almost done. This is the view from the front door, through the living room and conservatory.
Howdy Neighbor
This is from our front door over to the neighbors house across the cul-de-sac. Looks like their construction is right behind ours.
